The identity of the bar has been changing over the years. I don't like to judge a bar as they were. The past is dead, is a principle of mine.
As they are, they are neither here nor there. Now and Then as a menu is a strange idea. Drinks from then are for then. If you are serving them now then they are for now.
So there is a confusion in the menu concept. I think it also shows in the venue and energy. They keep trying to hold on to some essence of the past, while trying to reinvent themselves but not quite being able to leave their past behind.
It is confusing for a type of guest to identify with this place.
I really hope 28HK find their stride again. Take the principles (which should be timeless) that was at the core of this pioneering place, embody it and don't look back.
